05 GSX-R1000 revealed Suzuki will launch an updated and even more powerful version of its GSX-R1000 for 2005 complete with MotoGP inspired dimensions and a radical snout designed to scoop in more air. Its weight is being cut to below that of the 170kg Kawasaki ZX-10R and its power is boosted to a tyre-shredding 175bhp at the crank (around 155bhp at the rear wheel) – according to MCN’s sources. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/jpeg/102/869879.jpeg |

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
Wow! How in the hell did that ugly ass thing get past quality control? I mean come on, I know that winning races is important, but that's just plain ugly.

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
I honestly like it. wonder where the pipe is gonna be...
|
Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
Like everyone else, I'm sure the pipe will be mounted under the rear subframe. It was awesome and new when Ducati did it on the 916. However you KNEW you were buying a no excuses, italian race bike with all the comforts therein. I just can't see making a production street bike with no storage space what so ever......
Maybe I'm just to practical. |
That is one ugly looking bike. kinda reminds me of a platapuss (SP)

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
When I get one, I will call it that.

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
They finally found a way to make a bike
uglier than the 'Busa.. 8) TJ 8) |
Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
Guys, hate to be a pest, but if you look hard the pipe is right by the swingarm, MotoGP style! Wonder where the muffler is?

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
OMG!!!!! you mean Suzuki is trying to replicate a Buell!!!!
(if they keep this up they'll never win another race) |
Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
looks like straight pipe to me. no muff needed. I like the paint scheme but not the front fairing.

Re: 05 GSX-R1000 revealed
Oh my is that thing ugly.
One good thing about the SH is that it is a great (IMHO) looking bike. It does what I ask of it without any problems. The problem with owning race replica-type bikes is that every other year you feel the need to replace it because something lighter and faster has come out. I'll just keep riding the wheels off of my SH, laughing all the way as I leave clueless GSX-R riding squids in my wake in the tight stuff. I want to cry everytime I see one of those (or an R1, CBR, ZX, etc) with inch-wide chicken strips and big flats spots down the middle of the rear tire. Maybe this should have been in the rant section... |

(if they keep this up they'll never win another race) Whew... I am partial to the pretty ones like the VTR or my other girlfriends: http://colevalley.net/photos/bikes/yam2.jpg http://colevalley.net/photos/bikes/gunther.jpg But seriously, what is Suzuki thinking or are they just NOT thinking. Remember how you always had that one kid in your class that could run real fast but he still didn't have a girlfriend because he was so ugly, you always figured he ran so fast so he wouldn't get beat up, because he was so ugly. well, I never could run fast enough to catch that kid so I could beat him up... O.K., I'm straying a bit. I meant to say this bike is the new "ugly kid" on the block. Faster then you ever need but it looks like a hairlip plattypuss that lost a fight.
|
One other thought... can this maybe be a prank? Are they really gonna release something soooo ugly?
