WTB Passenger peg spacers for high mount ex.

Had a guy call the shop I work at looking to add passenger pegs to his 2Bros high mount exhaust. If anyone has the spacers [and bolts], hit me up. TIA

hello i I just bought a 1998 Honda superhawk with jardine rt-one highmounts but without passenger pegs asked the guy if he still had them and he said no so I was wondering if by any chance you had the screws and spacers that came with the exhaust because my girlfriend is dying to ride thanks so much again

Erik, what kind of costs are we looking at now that you potentially have multiple sets? Tues I'll call this fella back and let him know and we can make a decision. I'm sure I can source the bolts here on my end to save on shipping.

E.Marquez 05-06-2018 05:51 AM

We are talking about the two spacers that fit behind the peg mount, two per side https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sup...c82932a91e.jpg

As is most machining work, its less the cutting and more about the set up.

I'm set up for flywheels right now, and need to due three of them before I change as that's a 2 hour set up..

For the spacers...as long as you dont want something fancy, just 6061 aluminum, basic profile and simple finish ......keeping in mind I dont have a CNC to pop out a dozen of these every 4 min.... its all hand set up, hand turned, measured and finished......
Need to know how long you want them.... It seems to not be a standard XX length, as it depends on if your looking to get the mount to clear the can or the connector pipe

Let's do some more research before a lengthy expensive set up.

I think those are too short,,,,searching out some past posts, I see 2, 2.5 and 3" spacers mentioned.
And gee the 2" ones are only $68 for a 10 pack....

And just to put context on my last post......
I was thinking in the $25 shipped range for 4 spacers.....as long as it can wait a few days so i dont have to reset up for flywheels

These are Jardine RT measurements from Bobby.

The guy that called said he had 2 Bros, so I'm unsure about clearance and would have to do some more digging.

For a 10pk. I may be able to visit a grainger store and buy singles.
Yours shipped would be roughly 6.25ea and the grainger 5.85. Maybe saving you the hassle as well.

Those are M10 fasteners yes?

if so, I'm making a fastener order today, so if you want me to make the spacers, I can order the bolts as well.
Socket head cap screw in Stainless?

Wolverine 05-06-2018 07:17 AM

Do you think the reduced 19mm OD would be an issue? We do not know the weight of the individual passenger stepping up on these pegs w/ spacers and I'd like to be confident in any recommendations (if we went the granger route).

And no, not on my end. I can't contact my guy till Tues when I get back to the shop and I'm not going to commit without approval. Adam might. He's on the FB side as well (there's a Superhawk group discussion on this).

Hmmm good point, the added length is an issue... Stainless is relatively soft as compared to a 10.9 or 12.9 grade bolt .....
The OD is a little less than desired....and between that and the softer bolt.... well id say, a ummm, larger person should not be using the peg as a step up on the bike...

Ok, well I make a fastener order once a week almost anyway, so no big deal on that..And like I said, I cant get to making them till mid week anyway.

Would be no hurry on my end. Maybe Adam will chime in and we can gauge interest there. I'll make the call first thing Tues morning. Thanks Erik.

Wolverine 05-08-2018 06:12 PM

Granger will not sell singles, so we'd be stuck with a 10 pc bag (2 would get unused). I left a message with my guy about these. I'd need to know how wide he needs. When I get a return call, I'll post back.

Wolverine 05-10-2018 06:52 PM

Erik, to follow up...
Adam said his PO found the spacers and bolts, so he is out. I'm playing phone tag but I think he's serious. I need to speak to him in person before I progress with you.

Wolverine 05-17-2018 05:39 PM

So we messaged back and forth Monday and he said he'd get back to me "tomorrow". That was 5/14. I'm not going out of my way any further. If he contacts me fine, I'm not wasting anymore time.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Try to help and sometimes this is where you end up.

Not sure why no one thought of just buying 7/8 6061 rod and drilling a hole in it.
Even from McMaster you can get a 1' bar for only $5 bucks.

I'm sure lots have thought about it and if thats all you want in ascetics..and...
Can cut all four spacers to length, squarely, cleanly and to a decent tolerance in length, say +/- .010"
Can drill a straight 2 1/2" deep through hole dead center of the stock on both ends, go for it.

Id bet most who try end up with non square ends, rough cut marks, vice grip gouges in the material, and holes that are anything but centered in the material end to end.

But to each his own, if the above result is good enough for the owner, thats all that matters.

and some likely can do a really good job with a hacksaw and hand drill..good for them, they should be proud of the accomplishment. For others, its best to ask for help.
Add in the variable of making the part not for yourself, but for a third party, with the expectations they will have for a correctly dimensioned, ascetically pleasing part constant across all four, and you have a significant additional reason to have them made for you vice doing it on your own with less than optimal tools and equipment.
I'm not bad mouthing the guy making due with what he has and getting the project done... there is a lot to be said for that... Just observing, the completed job will likely be much different outcome from the guy doing it on his garage floor vs a person with the proper tools and experience, materials and tooling.

Got a txt today, here it is.

Hi Jason. Tony at Action MotorSports. This is my current situation and how I bought the bike. I didn’t get any passenger pegs or brackets with it. Let me know what you need and I can help ya.

Wolverine 05-18-2018 04:01 PM

I let him know he'd need the brackets before we can proceed. Wonder if Beau has a set,,,
