WTB parts, smoked a deer Monday

Aside from some road rash, sprained ankle, and a totaled bike I'm ok. I need a complete plastic set if it's reasonable. Here's what I absolutely need to make the bike functional again:

Brake lever
Clutch lever
Right side engine case cover
right foot peg
foot brake lever

If anyone has any of this stuff or possibly all I'd really like to get the bike put back together so I can still ride this year.

Did you get to keep the venison at least?
Glad your not too badly hurt.

can't help you with parts, but glad you survived the crash.

I got a scare the other day. I was looking at a large brown bear on the road ahead of me trying to get her backed down when a black bear jumped over the guard rail right into the middle of my lane. Fortunately they didn't approve of my baffectomy and took off up the hill just as i got there. First brown bear I've ever seen in PA and he was a biggy.

Don't know if you have comprehensive(fire and theft-not collision), but if you do, your insurance will cover a deer encounter.

I have full coverage on the bike. They totaled it out and I bought it back. Most the damage was done to the plastics and minor metal pieces.

awesome! that's exactly what i did, but i did fork and triple damage too. My insurance co(state farm) tried to low ball me for the bike, but a little fight and threats encouraged them to get more in tune.

main thing is you live to ride another day. how did it happen?

I'm pretty sure my forks are ok. I've got progressive and it was handled pretty well. I was riding along ans saw 2 small deer pop out of the ditch about 70-80 feet in front of me so I hit my brakes. All of a sudden a big doe came flying out of the ditch right in front of me. Luckily she ducked, but I hit her broadside with the front of the bike.

did you go flying or stay on? I went sliding across the road and into a ditch without impacting anything (at 80-90mph) and one fork and triples were bent, so i imagine yours are too.

you can often tell if something's bent up front if the slit mark under the top center nut on the triple is not centered while riding, and of course if it doesn't track straight with hands off. I rode mine for a while before i figured that out because my tank bag hides the mark, but it did pull to the right a little, so i knew something was amiss. Also, there is an alignment procedure that helps to realign forks if they moved during impact.

It seems that the triples are weak. If you take them apart and look carefully you can tell if something's bent.

Pesky deer

Check out this person to deer contact.

Good thing he's wearing a helmet!

A person on a group ride the other evening hit a deer on his r1 at 90 MPH and somehow was able to continue the ride after going down. The best part was seeing this very small girly girl riding a ninja 250 grab a Buck knife out of her jacket, cut the deers throat, then tied its legs together ans threw it over the back of her ninja and went home. My kind of woman...

On topic, I have a stock windscreen, tail might, and blinkers if you need them

I've got a stock windscreen to put back on it. Tail light and blinkers I may be interested in.

Luckily I just laid the bike down and didn't go flying.

Yeah, you're kinda of woman, that is, as long as you behave yourself, huh.
