WTB complete front end / brake swap

I've been pushing the bike more in the canyons and I can definitely see why people say the stock brakes are not so good...getting some fade when I really want to use the power and get hard on the brakes...also not the most confidence inspiring stopping power.

I'm looking for someone (preferably in SoCal) that has the parts for sale for a (mostly?) bolt-on installation that will give me better brakes.

I've read about a bunch of different swaps that people have done but essentially just looking for economical setup that beats out the stock setup for now.

I'm about to do SS brake lines and EBC HH pads. This combo is plenty but if you want more I believe that 6-pots from certain years of GSXR's are a bolt on. You must also change the master cylinder to match them but parts are cheap on Ebay.

what pads are you using? when was the last time you bled your brakes?

The cheapest route would be to get some calipers from SP-2 version of the RC51 (2002 on) or 954, or first gen 600RR (pre-USD forks). These have 32/30mm pistons vs. 27/30mm on stock calipers) They need a bit of grinding to fit, nothing a few minutes with a dremel can`t fix.... You can keep your stock MC with these calipers, although you will have a bit more lever travel (but significantly more power). Get some decent pads (Vesrah RJL, for example) and steel lines and you will be quite happy......

thanks for the responses, I have a set of EBC HH pads I ordered I'll see how it is with those and then try the other suggestions left here.

What year is your S-hawk? Reason for asking - is that I have a few sets of the GSX-R front calipers (which are gold OEM) which are a direct bolt on, and being gold -the set looks like there suppose to be there, ONLY on the 1998 thru 2000 model.. There after the S-hawks came with the black caliper..

1971...
How much are you asking for a set of GSXR calipers, I may want to do this also.
