WTB: Carb Float

Hello Again,

It turns out that Honda has carb floats on backorder until Nov 13th at the earliest.

Does anyone out there have a working spare carb float they can sell me?

Help! ;-)

There is no fixing of your old float? Have any pics of the damage?

The two tabs that go under the collar on the float valve & grap it to pull it
& let fuel in snapped off. I'll upload a pic in a bit.

Depending on how it is broken, you could try some metal work solder:

It is a fairly high heat solder and you'd need a torch to use it.. But it will create a fairly strong bond. Though I'd see this as a "get me through the weekend" fix, and not a permanent one.

Here is the broken float:

And here it is side by side with the good float, for reference:

Being that it's plastic, I would expect solder to melt it. Were you thinking that it had a metal attachment?

Ah I did think it was metal (never had mine apart) You could try plastic welding.. I did that on my seat cowl.. but it isn't as picky about tolerances.

Edit, or try gluing a small piece of tin on there.. but glue and gasoline... hmm

I see you got carbs from IndieRocker, so perhaps that is your best bet.

I'll sell for half of RonAyers price, plus shipping. They sell for $29, so call it $15 plus shipping. I have a set. PM if interested.
