Wanted:tweaked fairing stay

Anyone have a bent fairing stay collecting dust that they don't want? I want to cut one up for a project and hate to do it to a straight one...I actually had a bent one a few months ago and threw it away...duh, that's the second time I've done that recently... Thanks!

What I was hoping for is one that I could still get the gauges to screw into...everything else would be getting cut off...think it'll work?

HAHA sorry that question looked funny. Yeah I have a former dropped bike I bought off here, fixed up on the cheap, put dirtbike bars on and still want to use the stock gauges on but no fairings.

When I asked "think it'll work" I meant did dr.pepper think his stay would work for my purpose or was it too messed up...

I was just wondering if you were mounting a headlight to that bracket, or if you were mounting off the forks. If you are mounting off the forks, I don't believe it will work. I wanted to do that, but with how for everything pivots, the bracket gets in the way. If this isn't what you are doing, good luck with it.

Yeah Im seeing that the stay and gauges will be in the way of an aftermarket light, well one attached to the forks anyway. I just don't want it to look like complete p.o.s. with no gauges you know? Like I said I didn't want to put much money into it but I may just end up cleaning/fixing it up right and putting fairings and the clip ons back on so when I sell it I can get more than 1k for it It's just so much fun to ride with high bars on it!

Well, if you were to end up around Plant City the next two weeks, I have an extra one I made out of stainless steel. It looks like crap, but the awesome part is that it's hidden. Some of the ugly can be polished away, but some is for good. I used 1/4" rod (smooth), and just heated and bent to the shape I wanted. I had to make a new one, because the 599 headlight I got was too tall. It kept getting pushed down so I was looking 15 feet in front of the bike. Just a thought.

Hmmmm I may not be in the area but I always liked the big round single headlight look the best. Any pics of your bike? I'd be curious to see what it looks like and what you did.

Cap, I got a fairing stay that has about a half inch twist in it. I got coin involved but it didn't fit my new plastics so it's yours for stamps. LMK

I can try to get pics Thursday. I'll have to borrow my girlfriend's camera. I can take a picture of my messed up bracket. I only changed dimensions a little. The overall ideal is still the same.
