I had it on the rear stand in front of my table lift, took it off the stand and started to roll it up the ramp but forgot to put up the sidestand. Boom! When the sidestand hit the ramp it tips it over to the right and it fell against my work bench and table. This is the third time I've done it but by far the worst damage yet. It happened despite 2 frigging signs I have hung and one on the ramp that say "SIDE STAND UP!", which i put up after the first time. I need a fool-proof way of preventing this from happening! G-d I'm an idiot! Plus it busted the tail trunk QD rack base too. I can't believe! Thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk... (sound of head banging off wall) Now I'm probably going to have to beg off the Flat 4 Tour on June 6th. Greg, do you have the contact info for they guy (Bob or Bill) who fixed your plastic? He said he owes me a favor for the material research I did for him. Thanks for the moral support. |
At least you didn't put NOS energy drink in your gas tank!

Skokie,
Bob at EmpireGP is the guy you're looking for. I still have to send him my right side from when my wife's bike fell on it last year. I should get off my ass. Here's the foolproof way you're looking for: RIDE the bike onto the stand. If the sidestand's down then you'll know it as soon as you shift to 1st. |

In one of the shops I used the lifts they had a little flap or something sticking out at the base of the ramp that hits the stand and flips it up if you forget it... It really depends on how your ramp is setup but it could be worth thinking about...
BTW... that really sucks... |
