FOR SALE: RC51 brakes (EDIT: forks are sold, see post below)

Nice pair of RC51 forks, calipers (w/ good pads) & brackets, and stock lines (not pictured). Figured I'd see if anyone on here is interested before I sell 'em on ebay or craigslist. I do not know/remember the year these came off. They are clean and in great shape, no leaks, just the normal marks from the triple clamps. $250 for the forks alone, $325 with the calipers and lines. I will sell the calipers alone for $75. Prices do not include whatever fedex charges for shipping. PM me if you're interested, if you think I'm smoking crack, or whatever...

RCVTR is an unknown quantity at this point
Thsoe are '00-'01 SP1 forks - the preferred model - for track use anyway.

Good luck with the sale.

Man do I wish I had some $$$ burning a hole in my pocket right now.

...Alas, all upgrade funds are being reallocated to property taxes.

Haha not for a living. More of a small hobby I guess. Alot of the parts are from building my '98, never leaving it alone, and then getting something different and selling off what I had. I also recently finished my '99, which I bought from another Florida forum member who dropped it and didn't know what to do with it. So between two bikes there are lots of leftover parts. Plus I had bought a clean title frame awhile back that I since sold and that also caused another pile of parts to build up around it in the garage. From the looks of some other folk's garages I can't be the only one with this problem

Five? Hell it's been alot more than that I think at one point or another over the years I've tried almost every exhaust made for these things. Like I said the polishing became a hobby and I could usually make a few bucks when I resold them. Also usually have a couple other bikes in the garage I like to fix up and sell. Helps me keep my sanity, especially lately...

ha, that's my hawk.
not a regular on this forum - you can tell by my first post, and the fact that i don't have a "super" hawk. just a race hawk, a street hawk and a 77 cb750 cafe (you can see its tail in that photo).

but had to register and post, just so i can comment what an awesome guy captainchaos is - a true gentleman.

thanks again for the forks and the great communication - looking forward to the hawk back up and running for 2010!

RC51 calipers $75 plus shipping

Here are the calipers guys. They're clean and in nice shape. They still have good useable pads. No rash or damage. These will fit very easily onto your superhawk. You'll need to remove a very small amount of material either off the caliper or off your fork to get the bottom hole to line up and they'll bolt right on. I have left them alone, but if you don't want to be bothered I can take it off the calipers for you and fit them up to my '99 so all you have to do is bolt them on. The caliper brackets pictured are for RC51 forks but if you need them or any of the bolts just let me know. $75 plus shipping.

Ok I'll edit this and tell you what I've found. I try to be as helpful as possible but do bear in mind you could have looked this up just as easily. But for future reference it's good to cross reference part#'s. I use the microfiche on ronayers.com, and I also like to keep a big thick old Dennis Kirk catalog around (I'm sure those huge Parts Unlimited catalogs are even better if you can find one). I looked up the part#'s for the pads & they're the same, and if you compare the pics of mine to some ebay 954 calipers they look identical. Ronayers.com does list a slightly different part# between the two bikes, but I couldn't tell you if that means they're actually different. If you look at some ebay 954 forks the calipers look to bolt directly to them like the superhawk does-no caliper brackets like the rc51 forks use. So just based on that it looks like you may have a bolt on. But again please don't hold me to that as I would only give you a definite yes if I could physically mount them.

superhawk: 45150-MBB-D41
rc 51: 45150-MCF-D31
954: 45150-MCJ-752
1000rr: 45150-MEL-023

All the prefix numbers are the same, but I am not sure what that could even begin to tell you about the bolt pattern. They appear to be all different according to numbers, though I would have to assume that the bolt pattern on the forks would be the same as they are all Showa (I believe) and therefor, with minor fitment the calipers should be interchangeable. If the traditional (nonradial) brakes from a GSXR will mount on a Showa fork off a Honda, I imagine that it is all interchangeable within reason.

Long story short, 75 bucks is not lost money as you will be easily able to resell for no loss.

Thanks autoteach. And Chris with regards to the wheels, spacers, axles, rotor sizes you can look that stuff up bro... I don't know off the top of my head. I've had the joy of mixing and matching parts for my bike for a long time, and sometimes you just have to try stuff. As long as you can buy a part for a good price it's not a big deal if it doesn't work. Whenever I have to resell something I'll clean it up and take nice pics of it and usually end up getting a few bucks more when I put it back on ebay.

Chris there's also lots of great swap info on here if you use the search function, as different folks have used different fork/brake/wheel combos on their swaps. You can also search other places like fireblades.org (I'm not real familiar with it) because guys also do the same swaps with bikes like the 919. I used all rc51 front end parts on my swap to try and keep it simpler. I recently swapped off these calipers for cbr radials because there are custom brackets made specifically for that so it's an easy bolt on (and they look the mutts nuts too )
