Need seat for a CB-1

Hey Gang,

I've started a new project and need some help.
I'm putting a 1989 CB-1 back together and have just about all the parts I need except the seat.
The seat is out of production and out of stock, none of the aftermarket seat manufacturers has even heard of this bike much less has a seat for it.
Anybody out there have one, know of one, have a buddy that knows of one etc.

Help.

Try Hondacb1.org for starters. I'm pretty sure Corbin came out with a seat in the early '90's. Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the heads up.
I've been on several other CB-1 sites looking in vain but I'll keep trying.

Scootin' around the web, it seems there are a lot more guys looking for CB-1 parts than there are selling them. Mr. Toad is right. Corbin did make a seat. I've seen pictures of them on the web, with the Corbin label on the grab strap.
The only other thing I can think of is that since most of the world's CB-1s were sold in Japan, there might be a way to get one from there.

I looked on ebay for you but no luck...I'd definitely keep an eye out there

Thanks for looking out for me.
I'll try and give Corbin a call, there is nothing on their web site, but one never knows.

I wouldn't expect Corbin to have anything on the website, but I'd contact them on outside chance that they had one stuck away somewhere. If nothing else, they might be able to point you in a direction that leads to a seat, or send you a blueprint of the baseplate they built their seat on etc.

Good luck.

You're in luck: I have a seat in excellent condition that I'd bought for my CB-1 just before I sold her a couple years ago, the gods rest her battered bodywork [the "skuid" (i.e. a kid-squid:squid:) buyer dropped her within days of the sale, ruining her primo tank, scratching the cases, etc. ; worst thing was, I was sure I'd found her a safe new home. :banghead: :( ]

Give me a day or two to get thru xmas & find it in my messy (read "disaster zone") garage & get you some pics/price. I _may_ have a couple other CB-1odd/ends (I think I still have an SS bolt kit & Napoleon bar ends...) if you're interested but I'll have to check.

BTW, you'll love the bike when it's done: looks great naked, no drama in the twisties, always begging to be ridden hard and screams like a banshee when you do.....what more could one ask for when riding? ;)

You just made my Christmas complete !
I've inherited somebody elses project and can't wait to finish it.
I'm really looking forward to this bike, especially since it's powered by an F3 motor......
Sorry to hear about the demise of yours, it really hurts when you have a lot of yourself invested in a bike only to realize that it ended up with somebody that doesn't have a clue.
Let me know how much and also what else you have.

Merry Christmas,

a very happy CB-1.5 owner

Guy posts on the SUPERHAWK forum hoping to find a seat for a rather obscure Jap bike which hasn't been made in about 15 years, and one shows up. How cool is that?

Now if only someone has a pristine SRX-600 lying around!

The above posts clearly show that Superhawk owners are a breed apart.
Obscure taste in motorcycles is obviously in our DNA, cool.
