Interchangeability issues...

A newbie question here... so bear with me. And if its in the tech area somewhere, just say so, but I have not seen it.

Puchasing a slightly-ratty 2000 SH, and it of course needs a few little items. Between here and the e place, parts are pretty easy to come by, BUT... are most things interchangeable, in a general sense? I mean plastic from 98-05 the same, wheels, tanks, seats..? engines? Was wondering about later instruments too, in case I ever decide to change them for some unknown reason (like rolling back the miles... no, kidding)

I have a CX500 too, among other bikes, and that question comes up as we make mods and search used parts, and some of it has been documented to make it easier. So if there is a chart or even rule of thumb, pass it along, oh learned S'Hawk devotees...

Thx!

Jim

Its basically all the same stuff...save a gauge change over all and a change in fuel tank size in the euro market...if its built for a superhawk aftermarket, it will fit em all

About 90% of the bike is the same all through the years...

Best way to know any differences is to look in the service manual (stickied) In some places there is two drawings/schematics one 98-00, one 01 onwards...

If there are only one... it's the same...

Some parts that are different are still interchangeable, i.e later clip-ons will work with the earlier triple. other parts will not interchange, i.e. wiring harness.
