Graphite wheels for sale $150 shipped

I have some bare wheels for sale. They're not perfect, there are some scratches from mounting tires. The rear comes with a rotor (it is straight) and the cush drive. Two of the little rubber connector tabs on the rubber blocks are broken, but I don't think that changes how they work. Just makes it a little more of a pain to get the sprocket assembly back into the wheel. The rear rotor is a little rusty, but that'll go away the first time it's used. Bare metal rusts real quick here in Houston.

Anyway, I'd like to get 150 shipped for these.

Cool man, your wheels are going out in the morning

uchi 09-23-2010 08:32 PM

wicked. ive got a set of slicks coming for them this weekend aswell :D wonder how much of a bigger rear sprocket i can put on without having to mess with the chain. wouldnt mind gearing up a more for track days :D

NooB 09-23-2010 09:52 PM

Hell yeah! You won't be able to do much with the rear, but two down in the front would be the biggest bang for your buck. And you could swap it back when you're riding on the street with minimal chain adjustment.

Maybe you guys should remember the thing by your left foot called a shift lever....... that is really low gearing already, why on earth would you want to gear it lower?

uchi 09-24-2010 04:29 AM

because the track closest to home i can hit 120 mph on the big straight, other than that its a fairly tight course and i doubt i see over 100 mph anywhere else, maybe just on the second straight but its doubtful, past those two its just tight sections :D

although they are building a new track closer to home so ill have to see how it turns out :D

whats this shifter thing you speak of? lol. seriuously though the track closest to us i can run most of it in third and 4th, nice thing is with these bikes i can come out of a turn 4500 rpm roll the throttle and pull away from most bikes that are behind me but because it is tight id like a little more of that :)

NooB 09-24-2010 12:00 PM

Ok uchi, wheels are on there way!

Well another thread jack in progress......lol

If you are exiting a corner at 4500 then you might want to downshift 1 (if you are in third or 2 if you are in fourth) to keep the rev's above 5k as that will help out. If you really want drive you need to keep the motor above 6k and between 7k & 9k is the real happy place with this motor.

So try to keep the rev's up a bit higher and remember to "kiss the mirror".....

Have fun at the track. ;)

What? You seen any unjacked threads we have missed?!

4500 RPM is cruising... So far I have never been on a track that didn't require me to shift... You can go around on one gear, but that makes it a bit pointless... ;)

NooB 09-24-2010 02:53 PM

Tweety ----> :threadjack: <---- 8541Hawk

LOL sorry, I always wanted to use that smiley. With -1+2 gearing, 3rd gear at 4500 is probably pretty exciting.

8541Hawk 09-24-2010 06:27 PM

Sorry but the motor is fat and lazy at 4500 rpm. Why gear so low and then not want to rev it up?

Even on "street" rides, when I'm having a bit of fun, I keep the bike above 5K.
It really doesn't start to build quickly until you're above 6K.

Use the damn shifter and rev it up pookie....... ;)

uchi 09-24-2010 06:50 PM

thanks andre look forward to getting them :D

i dont know about you guys but if i crack the throttle at 4500 in mine she wakes up in a hurry and pulls pretty hard. im just greedy and want more power coming out of a corner. actually tomorrow is my second track day soi im gonna work on coming into corners at higher rpm and gonna try to come out over 6000. i was just a little iffy about coming in too high first time out as the bike has a tendency to lock up the rear on a downshift into second and first if im not too careful. cant wait till tomorrow :D
oh and we pulled some fuel from the carbs she pulls much harder now, should be good to see what kind of speeds i can hit on the main straight. 190 kph last time around and i was braking very early :D

nath981 09-24-2010 07:07 PM

well i got 15/44 and that will get you goin quick, and reduce your wheelbase at the same time. I got my axle pulled as far forward as possible. You can take a couple links out of the chain if you need to. Seems like it would work well at that track. I support highjacking.....................sometimes:D

uchi 09-25-2010 07:21 PM

i found i could have taken advantage of a different gear setup today. problem is some sections id have to shift for a few seconds and then down shift again while braking, and other sections i could use more gearing, id rather make the extra shift i think. also i ran the rpms alot higher today, coming out of corners 7+ rpm and the bike felt great. she saw the rev limiter numerous times on shifts and while dragging out a gear to avoid a shift and to avoid braking too early. the bike just worked great and was fairly fast today.

NooB 09-25-2010 07:26 PM

Any pics? I think we both know that the yellow hawks look best out on the track.

uchi 09-25-2010 07:31 PM

damn right they do :D

no pics yet i should have some in the next day or so. im checking my facebook to see when some pop up. strangly enough i didnt get a knee down today, yet i wore through my pucks by lunch at my last track day. lol. i think i was just worried about traction all day. i should have mounted those slicks and really let the bike go but the street tires were holding enough. my posture should be quite a bit better than last time out and i was significantly faster than last time aswell :)

I like yellow bikes. It makes them easier to see when I pass them.
