ROFL. That's me (high bidder).

superhawk22 05-31-2006 08:25 AM

I'm going to bid on it eventhough I have a 520 set up....bid war!! j/k

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 08:28 AM

Well hey, at worst, you could use it as a shuriken! :D

superhawk22 05-31-2006 08:36 AM

Where's my dictionary again... I'll cut ya man heyaw.

NovaWildcat08 05-31-2006 11:45 AM

Damn y'all. I've been watchin that auction for 3 days now! Haha.

Would replacing the rear require a new front and new chain?
I'm only at 7k miles. No noticiable wear.

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 02:52 PM

Is the chain stretching? How are the teeth on the front sprocket?

At 7k, you should most likely be fine.

Speed_Demon 05-31-2006 03:17 PM

Come on guys I need this. Everytime I go to the strip I have to race busa's and liter bikes. I need the extra pep!

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 03:35 PM

FWIW, the seller states 43 is stock, but I believe 41 is stock. So this sprocket is +2 on the rear.

As for racing Busa's and 1000 i4's, why not TURBO and N2O??? :D

If I run a turbo or N20 I'd loose the "your bike is slower but you still won" respect. With 99 RWHP they know I'm a better rider but with 1??RWHP they can shrug it off as a cheater bike. Most of the liter bikes I've raced have already been re-geared so I don't really look at it as an unfair advantage on my end. I have thought about hiding a wet N20 system just to see the reaction I'd get.

Yes 41 is stock and 43 is 2 up, I have 15-41 for street and 15-43 for track. 16 was stock for the front.

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 07:42 PM

Doh. Didn't win.

Marm, .50 cents man , you lost by .50 cents....why...that is like half a coke...LOL

We have our limits and it is nice to see that you didn't go past yours....

I have a 43 tooth, I might wanna sell....I never put the thing on, and don't know if I am going to....for the street, it's like, why do I need more on the low end?? Would it really make that much diff? ah, what ever.....lol

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 08:31 PM

Actually, I missed the end of the auction because I had to drop off papers at the pet store. Oh wells. No biggie.

I may be interested in your 43, if only because I like having spares of stuff. :)

Speed_Demon 05-31-2006 08:54 PM

Sorry guys but I had to have it!

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 08:55 PM

No worries. I'd much rather lose it to a SHF-member.

Unless they've got a blue bike.... :D

Speed_Demon 05-31-2006 09:06 PM

Now I just need a jet kit!

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 09:25 PM

Doesn't CNI have one?

Speed_Demon 05-31-2006 09:31 PM

He said he had a sale pending with another member.

marmaladedad 05-31-2006 09:38 PM

You can find 'em fairly cheap on eBay, too.

Speed_Demon 06-16-2006 07:36 PM

Woo Hoo!
Now I can pull wheelies easily in first second and third.

superhawk22 06-16-2006 10:03 PM

Fun set up eh!

Scooberhawk 06-17-2006 11:27 AM

I'm guessing no one has complaints about aluminum sprockets?? Light is good, but...

superhawk22 06-17-2006 11:43 AM

Light but don't last as long, maintenance will help.

The non hardened ones go away pretty fast.. I have gone to a hardened aluminum now. I'll let you know how long it lasts.
My co-worker has a hardened one on his SV and it seems to be holding up pretty good. Although it is a 650, so it's not gonna stress it like a hawk will.

Hawkrider 06-17-2006 05:00 PM

Vortex are crap, IMO. I went with hardened AFAM and we'll see how many miles that goes.
