All done with it, huh? Selling it for a price or do we have to guess?

jscobey 05-30-2014 06:28 PM

I think you meant 6 pot calipers. Nice bike. Why you selling it? You've had it since new

captainchaos 05-30-2014 07:31 PM

How'd the high mounts end up working out? The listing says high mounts but the pics are low...

thetophatflash 05-30-2014 08:05 PM

Stock CCTs and a rusty rear header?

salmanilla2000 05-31-2014 10:42 AM

$6,000 selling price. Clean title. Paid off.

Stock CCTs and a rusty header.

It's an old picture with the low mounts. I'll add some high mount pictures today.

Selling because I need the cash to move. Really sucks.

jscobey 05-31-2014 12:35 PM

I hope $6000 is a typo. I don't mean to be rude but cut that in half and its reasonable.

I think its a classic case of the bike having way more sentimental value than monetary value. The bottom line is we all know what a great bike the VTR is. But the rest of the world just sees is as an outdated bike that isnt that "sexy" Its a $3000 dollar bike. More or less depending on what it has done condution and millage. But you'll never get 6K. IMO of course.

That does suck, sorry you have to sell man. If you have time to be patient I think you'll get $5k for that super clean bike without a problem

West coast bikes go for more money than Midwest and Eastern bikes.

If the West coast bikes were coated in $3,000 worth of gold, I would agree.

Thanks. I'd sell it for $5k if anyone was interested.

If I didn't have a hawk already I'd buy it for that and I'm CHEAP!

He has more in suspension mods than most Hawks sell for. I paid $1800 for mine as an example.

Yeah but the problem is modding vehicles may make them a little more appealing to a certain buyer but serves more to lighten the owners wallet than it does much (if anything at all) for their resale value as a whole. If documented and insured properly you may get the extra money back in the event of a theft or accident but usually the only way to get that money back when selling a bike like this (other than to find that one in a million buyer which is possible but not likely) is to part it out or return it to stock and resell the bits separately. Originality, cleanliness and mileage are usually the biggest factors in value up to a point.

Sorry that's just one dummy's (that dummy being me) opinion. Besides I believe we agreed a long time ago not to question a person's selling price regardless of what we think of it...it's a classified ad and if we're not interested just move along...It does look like a real nice bike with a lot of time and $ put into it.

CrankenFine 06-11-2014 08:18 AM

Hope his luck returns and he gets to keep it. It's got a lotta love poured into it, not to mention the cash...

rick 06-11-2014 09:04 AM

If you don't like the price move on. OP's bike, OP's price. A buyer may come along who is looking to do the exact same mods, and it could be worth it to them. The stuff listed under suspension alone is close to $1k in used market.

So true. Time, money, sacrifices, tons of research, trial and error.

Definately!!

zxbud 06-11-2014 06:48 PM

I wouldn't sell mine for $6k based on the looks alone.
