Nice bike, epleeds.
What did you use to refinish the bottom of the forks?

lazn 08-03-2009 08:53 AM

Every time I see this bike I wish I had the extra dough to pick it up.

what do you mean?

Why do you keep reposting this instead of editing the other 5 threads you made for it?

It appears that the upper portion of the forks have been cleaned down to the aluminum, and that the lower portions have been painted gray. Yes?

epleeds 08-03-2009 11:19 AM

possibly. I bought it like this from the previous owner.

'Leeds,
What kind of rear turn signals are those?
I need a set like that to go with my ClearAlt taillight.

epleeds 11-11-2009 02:49 PM

no idea. they came on the bike from the previous owner. they are just some ovals with a hole cut in the rear fairing so they can sit flush. nothing fancy that im aware of.

The Clear Alternatives doesn't have built in turn signals? Or are you just looking to add more visibility?

I think that you can get that rear light set up at Dennis Kirk online

smokinjoe73 11-20-2009 12:10 AM

Just wondering, did you ride this bike at all or just buy it & are selling it?

epleeds 11-20-2009 07:09 AM

I have put some miles on it, but with 3 kids and life, just don't have time to ride it as much. I want to keep it, but i could use the money for other things. Do you think I would buy it, ship it from cali just to sell it.

I would rather keep it, but the wife says, if i want to do other things, i need to sell something first.

you interested?

Bottom Dolla?

I'm new to this forum from South Florida. I have a 99' & 98' VTR with one title that I'm in the process of building, (similar to your work of art) and was wondering what you think or know what you have invested in all the custom parts on your "SSS". I would like to know what your bottom dollar is as well, Thanks, Ryder.

epleeds 12-23-2009 02:55 PM

I bought it from Brian Light. If you do a search on this forum, you might be able to locate the old links. as for bottom dollar, i have no idea how much it cost him to do all the work.

epleeds 02-21-2010 09:10 AM

still available. spring is just around the corner...

smokinjoe73 02-21-2010 11:54 AM

I was just asking because I was wondering about the handling with the longer wheelbase & how it compares to a stocker, which is not exactly twitchy to beging with. Always a little suspect as to whether a major mod like this turned out solid & staight (& rideable)

Rollin20z 02-21-2010 01:05 PM

PM to you....

102dals 02-21-2010 01:21 PM

I'm thinking about doing this, and also curious about handling.
I'm also curious about how the pipe has affected HP/torque/delivery. Had it dyno'd?

epleeds 02-21-2010 02:42 PM

The ride on it is awesome. the front end doesn't lift off the ground on take off due to being about 1.5 inches longer wheelbase and about .5 to an inch lower at the seat height. I have not had it on the dyno for the numbers but it pulls like a raped ape.

smokinjoe73 02-21-2010 03:52 PM

Raped ape? This is a good thing? Sorry, I have a visual imagination, & I actully like riding.

epleeds 02-21-2010 04:50 PM

yea. it pulls all the way thru the gears. and seat of the pants feel is awesome...I have owned 3 superhawks and this one with the add-on's is the best.

98SKS 02-22-2010 09:41 AM

Nice bike, nice price.Good luck with the sale.

epleeds 03-16-2010 02:55 PM

epleeds 03-21-2010 01:39 PM
