Vacuum Hoses.....

Need help please. I've got the tank off the bike adding fittings, hoses, etc., in order to sync the carbs per Mr. Nemish's write-up on that subject. When I pulled the tank it appears that the vacuum hoses may have been connected wrong by the previous owner. The vacuum port for the rear cylinder which is used for the synch, where does that connect to? The petcock or the port at the back of the tank? The shop manual is vague at best.

Also I'm replacing the hack job forced induction Uni-Filter conglomeration the previous owner graced me with. Where is a cheap source for a K&N or a BMC filter?

Yup, that one goes to the petcock, rear vacuum line, and operates the diaphragm. Line does NOT go to the bottom nipple. That's the vent.

Okay. There is a hose that runs along with the front carb fuel line which has what appears to be a diaphragm or something like that. I assume that goes to the smaller nipple in the back?

This bike would be a joy to work on if my hands were the size of a small child
