Installing clip ons?

I searched and searched and can not find a thread about this. I just want a quick list of what I need to do for taking of my Heli bars and adding vortex. It looks easy but I would hate to screw up my beautiful bike. If any one has the time to reply I would appreciate it.

swordfish is an unknown quantity at this point
just remove your controls (clutch master cyl., front brake master cyl. throttle) then remove the bar ends, then remove the grips. loosen your clipons and pull them off. the throttle side vortex clip-on will need a hole for your throttle assembly to mount properly. so measure it out and you can punch a hole in the soft aluminium with anything thin and pointed. then just slap on the vortex's and lock everthing down. put your controls back on, and off you go. you can use the distance from the frame or the tank to make them even. or at least get in the ballpark. take it for a ride, and if it doesn't feel perfectly even then readjust and try again.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea about the throttle side. I don't know how comfortable I feel with "soft" aluminum bars. Do they hold up to your body weight well enough?

well, I'm 6', 175lbs and I've pulled wheelies, (rarely) and I've hung off the sides and they haven't bent yet.
