Oil prices riding, Gas prices falling???

Hmmm, oil is hitting record highs of $47 per barrel and prices at the local pumps have been dropping in the past 6 weeks.

Why did the prices flash to over $2/gallon when it went over $40 per barrel, yet it contiues to fall now?

I think the Oil companies were in collusion to jack up fuel prices and used the oil prices as an excuse.

The econonmy can't really absorb higher fuel prices right now, so the Oil execs will keep the prices stable.

Did you realize that Exxon/Mobil had a profit of $5 Billion last QUARTER alone? We need to minimize our reliance on Oil, ASAP. More people should be riding motorcycles instead of SUVs

If you notice, every year in the spring, gas prices go up then fall again in late summer early fall. Oil companies know that this period is "peak driving season" for the entire country. Therefore they know they can gouge us and we will pay it because summer is the time when alot more people are driving and driving further distances.

It doesn't have much to do with the price of oil per 55 gal drum as both the media and the oil companies would like us to believe.

Exxon/Mobil makes big money due to running an efficient ship . They make their own oil and fuel additives in house so to speak and are able to sell at profit for 3.90 a quart one of the only true synthetics in North America and the new for this year Mobil Drive Clean car oil uses the best base oils ever offered in a buck a quart dino . They could have raised the price yet did not .

A giant they are but not an evil giant like two others that come to mind . Speaking of evil , there is a large department store chain that is just killing the little guys . They suck as matter of fact .

Our government fails us in certain areas . The Consumer Protection Agency is worthless in my point of view but thats off topic to these gas prices .

Conspiracy of sorts ? I think so in a way . The car makers though while once they maybe had some insider knowledge of trend in pricing of the future I believe now that's even beyond their means in deciding what or how to enginneer new models 5-7 years down the road because of the turmoil in the Middle East .

I have something on my mind that deserves a new topic .

Oil, gas, makes me wanna BBQ some ribs and drink a beer.....

I agree, the big oil companies suck....I did some day trading last year for a while, and so I watched the stocks, and read a lot....the profit these companies post is insane....God forbid they not take us to the bank, I mean I enjoy financing there plush lifestyles and all, but for **** sake man it has gotton rediculous....

Efficient, rrrrrrright, that's a good one, you must work for one of them...lol.....can we say monopoly.....think what you want, it is sad....but oh well, we are sheep and will continue to buy the stuff....
Only I won't buy as much for my bike as I do for my truck, which hasn't seen very many miles lately, due to the fact that I try and ride everyhwere I go these days.....
