May pick up an 03
It's been a while but I have a chance to pick up an 03 from a buddy that bought his when he saw my 00. We did the same mods to his as we did to mine=Headlight retrofit, mirror extenders, LED taillight etc. It only has 5k miles on it and I can pick it up at a steal < than 2500.
If it wasn't for medical bills accumulated from my daughters broken arm I would be sitting on it already..... decisions, decisions.
Maybe I will get to post a "My new Superhawk" soon

Sounds like a sweet buy to me . Due to their age, Superhawks are pretty much bottomed out right now on their price curve, IMO. I expect they'll start to go up in value soon, as the supply dwindles and they get old enough to start being considered rare and collectable. With Japanese bikes, that price tipping point seems to be somewhere around the 20 y/o range, give or take. In my state (Washington), you can put a collector plate on a bike as soon as it turns 30.
I'm a big fan of the early to mid-80s Hondas (Nighthawks,Interceptors, etc.), and bikes that sold for $800 in 1994 or maybe $1200 in 2000 are now commanding $2500 or even twice that if they are well preserved and reasonably unmolested. I expect to see the same thing happen to our Superhawks over the next few years, especially because they are such cool bikes to begin with.
