Clutch Masters with integrated Res.
So I am closing in on being done modding my bike..
And with the arrival of my new brakes and clutch master cylinder today, yruyur mentioned that the forum would probably benefit from the results of my research into optional clutch master cylinders with integrated reservoirs. (I downloaded the Service Manuals for every bike who's integrated res I found on Ebay)
The stock VTR Clutch Master Cylinder is a 14mm diameter piston.
Here are a list of other Honda Clutch Master Cylinders with integrated reservoirs and the same diameter piston:
ST1100 (what I ended up with)
GL1800 (but not the GL1500)
CBR1000 (the old one, not the blackbird 1100xx)
PC800
So in theory any of those should work, and there are probably others that would also.
FYI: the ST1100 that I ended up with matches very well with the F4i Brake master cylinder that I am also going to use.

That is an option for sure.. But I do like how the ST1100 Clutch MC ended up working on my bike. Looks nice and works the same as stock. (actually I think the engagement zone is slightly closer to the bar now, but my guess is that is more from flushing the system with new fluid)

I am still using the lever from the ST.
I have been meaning to try my old SH lever just to see if it will fit, but have been too lazy for months to try it. lol.
I do want to get some nice anodized ones eventually and finding one for a ST and one for a F4i that match is unlikely, so I hope the SH one will work, that will give me a easy pair.
As for the F4i brake master, it uses the exact same lever as the SH, I actually kept my SH lever since it was the one in better shape.

Using Partzilla related fitment list, Superhawk (clutch) levers will not fit either gen of ST or PC (which use the same levers). Fifth and 6th gen VFR and CBR1100xx use the same lever as both gen SH including 2005.

I actually bought a used ST1100 set of Master Cylinders from Ebay...rebuilt & mounted them. They came with black levers, but the clutch side wasn't adjustable. So, in the interest of science, I tried mounting both the clutch & brake SH levers to the masters. They fit perfectly...including the "plunger" in the clutch side. After bleeding both the clutch & brake systems (fluid was getting old anyway), they're working GREAT. Even look pretty good too. Definitely more clearance to fairing edges with my 98 VFR800 bars (higher than stockers).
I'll post some pics when I take them...probably this weekend.
Keep it safe Gents!!

It has been my experience that they all interchange, as long as it is a Nissin master.. The confusion comes from looking up compatability of lever sets... A cbr600 set won't fit because the clutch is cable operated.. But the brake lever works fine...
I am using VFR800 mc's(14mm brake) on my bike, and everything is groovy...
VFR800
When I do my cbr954rr fork swap, I will be switching to a cbr1000 Hurricane 5/8 brake master, and swapping the levers for some red ones from a 954 witch fit fine on the stock, vfr, and Hurricane masters...
