Fuel Filter

I replaced my fuel filter and the supplied O ring. I can't seem to get the petcock to seat properly as it keeps leaking fuel. Any helpful hints to get the petcock to seat and not leak?
Also, the downward vent on the petcock (the one that doesn't get a line), may be where the fuel is coming from. Is that even possible?

Is the fuel leaking from both places, meaning, around the o-ring where the petcock sits on the tank, and from the nipple at the bottom ? Or just the nipple at the bottom ?

If it only leaks from the nipple, replace the diaphram kit, you should be fine. If it leaks from the o-ring, I suggest removing the tank, drain it, an flip it upside down, install petcock. You may have pinched the o-ring, or, there is debris that got stuck between tank and petcock causing your leak.

Thanks. I think I'm going to need the diaphragm kit.
