Mapping software

Hi All

Anyone have any recommendations for free mapping software. I have tried google, yahoo, bing, mapquest and they all are great if you want to go superslab. They all have option to avoid highways and then allow you to click and drag the route around but it seems that after a few modifications to the route they all seem fall apart and lock up or loose the end point of the trip.

You get what you pay for I guess. Aaaarrrggggghhhh!

Have you tried Waze? Don't know if it can do what you want, but it's one more to try.

It's intended for runners and bicycle riders but it may do what you want for customizing to secondary roads since that's what bicyclists and runners prefer.
