What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

That Coerce rear end looks fantastic! A little pricey, but man, it sure looks cool.

That guy knows his stuff, that is the vid I followed. After I rode the Connie with the mod the first thing I thought was why not the VTR.
Best I could describe it is it was the difference between the K&N filter (not recommended for the Connie either) and the OEM filter on the Hawk, much smoother, revs easier, a bit more power. And CHEEAAPP!

How can the added ground "mod" increase performance? Is the ground that poor that we're not getting adequate power from our coils to the spark plugs? Seems like snake oil to me....I note in the youtube video the guy never shows any items like voltage drop decreasing, or bad grounds, etc.

Try it. If you don't like it I will refund you the cost of finding out about it. No steak knives though.

Replaced existing chain with D&D, added new JT sprockets, and put some new rubber on the rear. Ready for Daytona Bike Week starting on Friday. Bikes are already taking over the Orlando area, with current temperature at 78 degrees fahrenheit at 8:36 PM! See you at Daytona....

I bought mine today: Barn Find/New Member
CL find . A sort of Estate Sale "Barn Find".
Original owner removed carbs to clean and lost interest. Now it's entrusted to me. I will be lurking and posting and reading up since I want to ride this VTR!
FYI: A 1998 VTR will fit into a 1998 Toyota Sienna when mirrors are removed.

Thank you for the welcome. Yes it is complete. It seems all the parts are included and in fine condition.
I washed off the tank and it is nearly perfect.
From some quick research, I need to determine what mods have been done to the carbs, sort that out and install manual cam chain tensioners. This in addition to much inspection and cleaning.

Read up on replacing the stock R&R (rectifier/regulator) with a MOSFET unit. That and the CCTs you mention are the big stuff for reliability.
Then you can start modding for the sake of modding.

Again thank you for the welcome! You may find this hard to believe, but I am a thrifty (returning to riding) motorcyclist. I researched and searched for months. I was not specifically looking for a SH, but they were certainly on my list. I am taking a chance on this one since I have not heard it run, Heck I haven't even powered up the panel to see the mileage. But I am willing to take that risk for a good price, and this one was priced right. Plus, I really trusted the seller. Tomorrow I will get a battery and update with the mileage.

Xeris,
Do you still fly HG?

That is funny. And yes it is. I cleaned some more of the dirt off last night.
Your sig is funny also because I HAVE to select tires and oil and have NO bias yet.
PS> I can't find the mechanical odo.
