Pre-Purchase Advice 2002 Superhawk

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on buying a 2002 Red Superhawk that is for sale near me. Here is the ad 2002 HONDA 1000 FOR SALE . Are there any problem areas I should check before deciding to buy it? Does it seem like a fair price as I am new to the Superhawk market. Any and all input appreciated.

Thanks

I know it really depends on the area, but I bought my 2004 with 18k on the clock a few months back for $2500. There's another one for sale in my area for the same price as well.

KBB says retail value is around $2900 and trade in is less than 2k. I'd throw down an offer in between.

Everyone will also say to check to see if the CCTs have been swapped out for manual ones. Check this thread out.

I don't think that price is unreasonable for a well kept low mileage example. Cam chain tensioners are a know issue (cct), aside from that you really have to judge in person. Good luck!

That's looks like a clean bike, very low miles, if that's the original miles, it is a good deal!

Give it a full service, replace any consumables, fit braided brake hoses and manual CCTs, and you'll effectively have a 14 year old new bike.

Stunted exhaust cans could be a tad loud - see if you can at least get the original exhausts just in case earplugs don't cut the decibels...
