Inexpensive Alarm System

Hi all. Installed an inexpensive alarm on the VTR last spring as an additional theft deterrent. Bike is normally covered, chained and rotor locked but wanted to slow them down a little before it’s heaved into a van. Standard offshore two-way box with remote arm/disarm + activation chime. Shock sensor only (no proximity box) so I added a mercury tilt switch. The power on/off switch is handy if you need to cut system from battery. Easy integration with PosiTap connectors. A few of these cheap alarms also come with flashing ‘system armed’ LED’s. None on this one so I stuck a flashing red light near the instrument cluster hooked to constant & switched 12V sources. Light flashes whenever the key is turned off. Hook & loop install on rear tray and there’s still room for all the other stuff I lug around.

Aw man great but incomplete post. Where is the link to where you bought the super secret mystery alarm?

Also, for a scant $28 you can add a tile tracker and use your phone to see where the bad guys have taken your bike.

Sorry about that. Beret 5000m or Spy 5000m are the more common names. A search should come up with a bunch of suppliers.

Can I safely guess you bought it after watching this video?

Watched that video too. Looks like the remote line-of-sight distance is OK but have found it to be more limited in and around cars, garages, etc. Good when I'm in a motel but the bike isn't too far away.
